According to historians, dentistry has been around since 7000 BC. Luckily, the field has come a long way since then. In fact, in the last decade alone technological advancements have benefited dental care, providing more accurate diagnoses, earlier intervention, and a more pleasant patient experience. And Dr. Thornton and our team are excited to announce that we are outfitting Limestone Dentistry with the latest dental technology as well! To learn more about the improvements to come, read on!

A Look at the Latest Dental Technology We’ve Invested In

Since the Fall of 2021, Dr. Thornton has dedicated his time to helping patients in and around Jeffersonville get the top-tier dental care they deserve. To continue that mission, he has invested in the following dental technology:

  • Intraoral cameras – Have you ever wondered what it is your dentist is seeing during their exam? With intraoral cameras, we can show you! This compact instrument takes high-quality pictures of your mouth, which can then be displayed on a chairside screen. As a result, you can be more involved in your treatment plan than ever before and have complete confidence moving forward with it.
  • All digital X-rays – While visual inspections are helpful, taking a look beneath the surface is essential. With old-school X-rays, fuzzy pictures and radiation exposure were things to consider. But no more! Our team now has all-digital X-rays, which involve 90% less radiation and crystal-clear images.
  • CBCT machine – In December of 2021, our team will be adding another piece of state-of-the-art dental technology to our practice: a CBCT machine. Essentially, this tool is capable of capturing high-quality 3D images. This is essential to smile-enhancing treatments, like dental implants.

Why Utilizing State-of-the-Art Equipment Is Important

State-of-the-art equipment is an investment, but our team at Limestone Dentistry felt like it was an important one to make. As mentioned above, innovations in technology have resulted in dental tools that not only lead to more accurate diagnoses, but also allow patients to be more involved than ever before. Plus, high-quality cameras and pristine X-rays ensure dental problems are caught at the earliest stage, saving patients both time and money involved in more lengthy restorative procedures. Lastly, the compact equipment results in a more comfortable experience in the treatment chair overall.

Heading into 2022, we are more excited than ever to help you maintain, restore, and enhance your smile with the latest dental technology. If you’re overdue for your six-month cleaning, want to explore your tooth-replacement options, or are simply ready to pursue the smile of your dreams, then now is the time to schedule a consultation. We look forward to hearing from you soon!
