First Birthday, First Visit!
We are strong proponents of the pediatric slogan “First Birthday, First Visit!” This means around the time your little bundle of joy turns one year old and is heading into their toddler years, we recommend their first dental visit. Most children by this time have at least half their primary teeth erupted. It is never too early for your kiddo’s first visit. Studies have shown that early exposure in the dental office can lessen the likelihood of a traumatic experience. We definitely want to start seeing children for routine cleanings, X-rays, and exams once all the primary or baby teeth are in.
Early Intervention
Early intervention of primary teeth helps ensure the long term health of your child’s adult teeth. If baby teeth have an infection or cavity present, it can hinder the development of the adult teeth. Not to mention a primary tooth infection can cause problems throughout your child’s heart, lungs and brain!
